2014 Dates for the Pitt-Slovakia Program (see poster):

*June 9-July 18 -- six weeks of instruction in Intensive Slovak (three levels) study in Pittsburgh
*July 20-August 15 -- optional 4 week program in Bratislava,  Slovak Republic

This program is coordinated by Dr. Vlasta Stofova.  Write to stofova@pitt.edu for more detailed information.  Dr. Stofova has prepared an overview of the program in Slovakia, as well as a detailed plan of the Slovakia program for 2014.

The courses in Slovak language in Pittsburgh are open to students of all ages, including junior and seniors in high school, undergraduate and graduate students, and to persons of any age who have previously been enrolled at a college or university.  Students must be 18 to participate in the abroad program. The Pittsburgh course carries 6 college credits.  Upon completion of the Pittsburgh portion, students may continue in Slovakia for a total of ten college credits.  Those with prior experience with Slovak language may participate in the 4 week program in Bratislava after testing and with permission of the coordinator.

Past programs in Bratislava have included tours of Bratislava city, St. Martin's Cathedral, Bratislava Castle, as well as trips to Devin, Marinaka, Rusovce, Koliba, the High Tatras, Strba, Strbske Pleso, Tatranska Lomnica and Kosice, with optional trips to Vienna, Prague and Budapest.
