Ukrainian at the University of Pittsburgh
The Ukrainian language has been taught continuously at the University of Pittsburgh for over 40 years. As is common with most less-commonly-taught languages, class sizes in beginning, intermediate, and advanced Ukrainian are relatively small. For this reason, gifts are especially critical in enabling us to continue to teach Ukrainian. As a strong Slavic Department attached to one
of only fifteen Centers for Russian and East European Studies in the US, we are committed to do whatever we can to keep Ukrainian among the languages we offer in our department.
Giving to the Ukrainian Studies Endowed Scholarship at the University of Pittsburgh
Efforts are underway to grow the Ukrainian Studies Scholarship Fund endowment in order to achieve our goal of guaranteeing instruction of Ukrainian at Pitt regardless of
class size. In addition to Ukrainian language instruction, the fund is used towards student scholarships and other activities that support the Ukrainian Studies Program.
